Looking for the first stamp to be print in this new color .The new color was discovered at Oregon State University ,the team that found this was working on electronic's . The color has already been test with paint ,so it is not too far to think it will be used in ink for printing.

It's a lovely blue and a nice tribute to technology ( https://en.wikipedia.org › wiki › YInMn_blue). Bet you that we all see different shades of this blue once it's on stamps, given that technology is sometimes more perfect than our poor shaky bodies. |

Unlike royal blue or most blues Yinmin-blue is non-toxic and does not fade. A commercial wonder. |

Looks like Best Buy blue to me.
Cheers,

Since it is not a color number or angstroms or nanometers what does the number signify? Maybe a hint? |

I think the discover is a bit more about the chemical elements rather than a color itself. The human eye and the visible spectrum are what they are, one could say that we have long understood all the available colors that we can see. If a true 'new' color was found, it would still be generated on our computers and screens as one of 256 levels of R, G, and B for a total of over 16.7 million possible colors combinations. So either the color being illustrated above in this thread is one of those existing colors or it is not it's true color. Don |

When I first spotted this thread, I thought he was posting about some new variety of YCrCb coding. Cheers, |

It might be more of a clean blue (narrow wavelength histogram) than a new blue; ask your spectrometer if this blue is right for you. Cheers, |

Hey it is blue. It is not going to change the world.
I'd rather figure out what is going on with KIC 8462852. |
