Old stamp albums are rather intriguing. They are generally small, due to stamps having been in common use for around 50 years. Here are two old albums I recently pick up:

The first one is 1898 - simply "Postage Stamp Album" is a hard cover and bound with 72 double sided pages "Embellished with 1250 engravings of stamps and containing space for over 2500 varieties." and places for . It's about 120 pages (double sided). Album is about 6x9˝ inches in size and about 3/8 inches thick.

The second one, "The Ivory Stamp Club with Captain Tim" is a paperback soft cover bound album of about 120 pages double sided with some illustrations. No copyright date is discernable, but based on contents, looks like 1930's era. Capt Tim was discussed in an earlier topic here: https://goscf.com/t/18984#18984

Very nice.
This book does not seem to have a date. I will look for
others. I saw others, but put them aside, seeing that stamps were glued
to the pages.

Very interesting subject, oldguy

This album would not be as historical as the ones shown in your post.
It was published by SCOTT Publications Inc. and Copyrighted 1949. In the 60s my Father bought many stamp collections and this was part of them. Most Stamps were transferred to other albums, including the Scott International Junior Stamp Album (copyright 1943), not scanned because of its weigh ! and The International Postage Stamp Album Part II ( formerly the International Junior Album- copyright 1950).
My personal 1st stamp album was the Ambassador world stamp album, by H.E. Harris (1963)

They are really nice stamps graveyards. Guess stamps in hawid protective mount put in those albums would die

But Yes, I like that album from 1898.

rlsny,

this classic International stamp album looks great! Even though Junior sets not valued as much, I always loved extra illustrations!
