Justin, I collect a few. (My father fought in Viet Nam.) Mine are all from the 60s, I believe.

I have a pretty good run of material up to the Liberation. My North Viet-Nam material has many more gaps, particularly for the early years. I don't find the post-Liberation issues very interesting, as most were printed abroad for the packet etc trade. I also have a reasonable range of French Indo-China, but missing the scarcer stuff. Why do you ask?

I was just curious because I ask most of my friends who collect stamps and no one seems to collect
Stamps from this period.

Mechanization (modernization, reform) of agriculture would make an interesting thematic collection, especially if you could find a few stamps without tractors.

You could even limit it to stamps that specifically touted a Green Revolution ... perhaps a few of those featured test tubes?

But I wonder what this design was trying to convey? ... https://www.stampcommunity.org/uplo...26_image.jpg ... the happy end of bucolic village life?

Even collectivists living in collectives need a roof over their heads.

Cheers,

/s/ ikeyPikey

During the war, my father observed the Army putting in a wonderful, spacious latrine for local villagers. It was part of the effort to win 'hearts and minds.' The funny--and somewhat tragic--close to the story is that soldiers had to evict the villagers after repeated attempts to move in.
