I really wish someone could explain to me why people are paying $15 for this auction:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/31165988840...RK:MEBIDX:IT

they could litterally go to the post office buy the stamps and have them canceled on the spot for a lot less.

You can not go to the post office for these. Only available from the cave or the ebay USPS.
The ones on the website look like CTO's - I would guess a set that has run through the mail would be nicer?

JMHO: they would not be CTO. I think they are used off paper & given the past history with soaking recent SA issues someone (not too intelligent) feels someone else's' effort is worth a little extra $$. These stamps were issued with special adhesive that unlike previous SAs will release from paper when soaked. (But you are correct, buying the stamps & mailing them back on cover to oneself might be a cheaper way to acquire these in a used condition)

The cancels look fake, like someone took a date stamp from the office mail room and hit the corners.

To answer the original question, not everyone is as price sensitive as some collectors here seem to be, and I don't mean that as a criticism, just a statement of fact.
