Ken

I think I've got it! He currently has a range of material individually listed by lot on ebay. He also has a heap of material yet to be listed. My assumption is that his offer is for the sum of the two groups, so you get all of the material presently on sale plus the boxes etc he hasn't previously listed.

This would give you a lot of stock!

Geoff

A hodge-podge of stuff. Would it not be smarter and more profitable if he'd divide all this up in smaller portions?

I think that's his point - he's no longer up to doing the sorting. The problem in buying this for re-sale is the huge effort in sorting and then re-packaging in coherent lots.

For his sake, I hope the seller has a decent reserve on this lot. Otherwise he's gonna get creamed.

Well, I wonder how much value is actually there - I simply don't know about the US stuff, but most of what's shown doesn't really stand out. There are a lot of very large "accumulations" going at real-world auctions, and not for £3,000+.

If you can't figure it out, leave it and move on. That's my policy.

He has a lot of stuff that seems to me way overpriced. Does he make a living at this? I doubt it.

Ditto. At some point, maybe the light bulb will "click on" for the seller. However, there's just too much stuff out there to fixate on badly described items.

I don't think his total catalog value is even close ,there is not enough material with a value of 10 dollars or more. My guess would be a lot that doesn't catalog over $10,000 if you drop all the stamps that don't catalog over a dollar .Something is wrong .
