Does any know the number of stamps south Vietnam issued excluding the 21 unissued stamps, I know it's around 500 and something And does anyone know an online web that gives you pictures of those stamps
Gibbons begins its numbering in 1945 with the Democratic Republic (1-60). This is followed by the "independent" state within the French Union if 1951-54 (61-97). Then, after Dien Bien Phu, South Viet-Nam itself (S1-S495) until the liberation in 1975. There are some postage dues and military franks. There are also seventy-nine stamps issued between 1963-76 by the National Front for the Liberation of South Viet-Nam.
Justinokay, have you followed Redwoodrandy's suggestion? If you go to http://stampworld.com you can find all of South Vietnam's stamps, with pictures. They are listed by year, so you can easily find the answer to your second question.
