Are they implying that it is a connected pair? It looks a little fishy to me.

if it looks too good to be true, it is too good to be true. Something like this I would expect to have at a minimum some "expert" guarantee (whatever that means is the subject of endless hours of discussion) and a bit of provenance. I'd put it in the forgeries section of my collection if I win it for $5 :-)

kachidousa,

What do you mean by "1.7 million dollar stamp selling on ebay?" The current bid is $410. I have no idea if it worth that, let alone 1.7 million dollars. I tried to look at who was bidding and ebay says that it is a "private listing" and that bidders are not disclosed. I've never seen that before. Can anybody tell me what a "private listing" is?

Basil

JUST THINK ABOUT IT ----For only $425.00 you can show all your family and friends that your a major philatelic expert and you got a treasure that you can let them hold ....for less than $500.00 it is better than showing a college degree from Harvard or a MBA from Stanford U. ,but don't come on here with something like that without a good certificate .
The thing about fakes and forgeries very rare that the forger stops after making just one overprint ,they make dozens or hundreds of them ,expect a few more to pop up if they start getting good prices {anything over $25.00 is a good price for a 35 cent stamp}

The seller has some pricey stamps for sale which all look good. Interesting if he/she is really in possession of these items.

Rather odd that none of these unusual items has a description, let alone a cert. And, as in art, the easiest stamps to fake are the "naive" school.

The inverted overprint sold for $725 - catalog value $275,000. Someone bought the deal of the year, a very expensive fake or a Paypal claim for non-receipt.
