Today , found my Bombing map of Dec 7 1941 ,I lost it 15 years ago and found it again . Our history books never had it right . They had all kinds of comspearices of Subs , spies and inside info by military intelligence . But let me make it absolutely clear ,they had a stamp collector who collected First Flight covers and that's what gave them all the ground information they needed about the whole island . Every target .
The map shows ,Pearl Harbor layout,The location of Naval Station Pearl , Fort Hamehameha at the entrance to Pearl , it shows the radio towers at Kahku Pt. ,shows the layout of Kaneohe Bay {the first place they attacked } which had the Marine Base. The map shows the mountain ranges and the height of the high peaks . It shows the location of the Schofield Barracks and Wheeler Field Air Base both behind the Waianae Range .Shows all Railroad lines right into the base at Pearl Harbor.
It lists all the lighthouses on the island ,with the U.S. Coast Guard station with it's radios . Such a easy map to follow if I was going to do a bombing run ......P.S. the map was mailed in 1934 so copies made its way to the beautiful island of Japan .

When the Second World War started, German ships apparently carried copies of Player's cigarette cards of Modern Naval Craft to identify British ships! During the Great War, cards were subject to censorship to ensure that they provided no helpful information for the enemy. And, of course, they were used for propaganda purposes. In the Second, there simply wasn't enough paper around to make them, and production ceased.
