Yes, but being a Revenue doesn't stop it having a year of issue, which is what the customer asked for.

No point in dragging out Koeppel/Manners because it is clearly post-Independence. Since the denomination is in naye paise we can assume it will date to roughly 1957-64. Someone can probably be more precise.

The customer ?????

So you don't like my reply,

First of all knowing it's revenue will help the member and others, so peoples will not look in Scott and similar catalogue to find it.

Second it may also help to move the tread in a more appropriate forum since it's a revenue.

Now to ID it is not quite simple. The only available book that may help (The court fee and revenue stamps of the princely states of India: An encyclopedia and reference manual) sell for $ 400 and up to $ 900 and I'm not even sure it cover it. This is a very undocumented area.

of course it's a 60's stamps, but good luck to find a catalogue # or value

This stamp is listed in my old Barefoot "British Commonwealth Revenues" as a Bill & Receipt stamp from 1957.

This catalogue also lists two special adhesive revenues from around 1950 which used this same design.

Köppel and Manners do mention this type.

Joy Daschaudhuri , this is not the same design, but as nigelc said, it's in the barefoot 2000 edition of "British Commonwealth Revenues" and also in the Blatt & Mollah book

as you can see in the scan, you have JK/RR060 , it's the numbering system of my book and also B&H 3 that is the number given by Barefoot and no number for K&M ( Koeppel Manners) because it's not in their book for obvious reason,

You have to give people the time to find the proper documentation , so here it is
