Wove paper, with some kind of offset, probably from the envelope it was used on. |

Thank you revcollector!
I just bought it. It was offered as Laid Paper. I did have my doubts.
I paid $51.00. No returns. I saw after the fact that this seller has offered six or seven with this same look. No worries, at least I know I will be able to eat and sleep tonight.

Of course there are "returns", since the item was not as described - a normal ebay policy. It is simple to file a complaint through Ebay/Paypal and they will handle it quite nicely. This is too expensive of a lesson not to send it back - and to ask this board before bidding the next time. |

Rimstamps2012, good advise from John Becker. One other item. On a more expensive item as this you could have checked the seller on Stamp Smarter. As a matter of fact, you might still want to do that, and if he is not listed please add him. This may protect folks that come after you from falling in the same trap. And you could also add a link to the listing here!

Thank you kindly John Becker for some very good advice!
I should have asked you folks about the stamp first. It is sometimes easy for me to get caught up in bidding. I do love to buy stamps. At my age, I do dot get enough excitement.
I know that I have been burned a number of times. I have never felt comfortable giving anyone either neutral or negative feedback.

Petert4522, I crossed posts with you. I will look into Stamp Smarter. I am not quite sure how to add a link. I am able to learn as I go, but I would still consider my capabilities "Old School". edit: I just looked at Stamp Smarter and did see that "she"? had one complaint. She may have five other complaints under the same name without collectibles added to it. Edit; I just learned how to add the link. How silly of me. http://www.ebay.com/itm/24-Laid-Pap...p=true&rt=nc |

Thank you Don, I am glad to have learned how to do that.
It is so easy. I have wondered for a while how to do it.
Thanks to all of you for sharing your knowledge.

This stamp was mounted on a self-stick photograph page. I let the seller know and was basically told that I did not know what laid paper was. When I provided her with HD pics of certed stamps I own, she blocked me. |

She s selling off her father's stock and she is just knowledgable to be dangerous. If you are attentive and know what to look for, you can get steals. I have flipped at least a dozen stamps for 5-10x what she sold to me at. |

kollectorkurt, You mean this seller has been "selling off her father's stock" for the last 6 years? This seller has been selling US stamps on ebay since around 2010. The father must have had some collection! Also note that this seller has actively been buying stamps for many years too. Don |

You can get some good buys from this seller if you are alert, but by and large it's a crap shoot with regard to quality. To be fair, the seller almost always includes photos that are good enough to show faults. But there was never any question that this particular item was not on "laid paper." It should be returned "not as described." |

Again, I thank you all for good advice.
Sandra has agreed to allow me to return this stamp for a full refund.
As stated to her, my wish is to never give anyone negative feedback. It will also be nice to be able to continue to buy from her. I have purchased from her in the past and never had a problem. |
