I agree that the category really doesn't make sense to the stamp collector.

Simple Fact... Not all "Stamps" are postal!
Clarification is always best.

But it's not a sub-division of "stamps" to differentiate the postal variety from revenues, etc. It applies to all types of stamp - postal or not, making it even less appropriate. (Unless they think there is confusion between stamps and, for example, rubber stamps for offices!)

"Philatelic Publications" would be correct.

ebay UK has titles on that page reading 'Philatelic Publications' etc.

One other dumb thing; I click on a sub category and the first page of listings has only a dozen or so items. To view them all I have to click a box at the bottom. As a sometime seller I worry that my lots will be overlooked by casual surfers.

My guess is that they are trying to make "post" more clearly an adjective, like "royal" or "loyal." As a retired teacher, I am all for correct English. But "philatelic" is just as clearly an adjective, and would include revenues. I hope no one says, "What time does your postal man come."
