Where Our Mission is:
To re-imagine eCommerce for collectibles - by building collectible specific communities where buyers and sellers can connect with each other, share their passion, and grow their hobby.
Founded at the end of 2015, Hip eCommerce first launched HipComic.com - the online marketplace for comic books in January of 2016. Where you can currently win an Avengers #1 (Retail $2,000) - which ends tomorrow August 31! We next launched HipStamp.com in March of 2016, which quickly grew to outpace bidStart in stamp sales; and where you can currently win a Penny Black - which also ends tomorrow August 31! Hip eCommerce is also excited to announce that today we mark our third endeavor with HipPostcard.com - the postcard marketplace; where you'll find custom features and custom image sizes and results built just for postcards, with more features to come soon!
Following our latest newsletter, and with over 99.5% of sales on bidStart falling between stamps and postcards, we can now provide you a detailed update on the migration from the bidStart platform to our Hip eCommerce platforms under HipComic, HipStamp and HipPostcard.
Since the migration was first announced just over two weeks ago, we've received a very large number of encouraging support from our buyers and sellers who are looking forward to the future! We were also asked to migrate from bidStart to Hip eCommerce as soon as possible, to avoid any uncertainty or confusion. Coupled with the serious technical issues which bidStart continues to face after years of decline, including the current PayPal issue affecting nearly half of all sales for orders over 9 items, we agree that migrating to Hip eCommerce needs to happen as soon, and as seamlessly, as possible.
Which is why we're happy to announce that our official migration starts today; and we plan to complete the process seamlessly as possible within the next week or two.
Here's What to Expect Today:
Starting Tuesday, August 30, all bidStart members will now have an account on either HipComic, HipStamp and/or HipPostcard - where you'll be able to login with your same username (or email) and password that you currently use on bidStart. If you've purchased (or sold) comic books previously, you'll now have an account on HipComic; if you've purchased (or sold) postcards previously, you'll now have an account on HipPostcard; and/or if you've purchased (or sold) stamps previously (or have not purchased any items with us), you'll now have an account on HipStamp.
In addition to your username, email, and password, you'll also find your address and additional account details are now available. Plus, if you'd like to join a site you're not yet part of, feel free to sign-up and use the same username you currently do on bidStart / elsewhere.
Here's What to Expect Next:
If you're a Seller - you'll be receiving a detailed email shortly; and rest assured we'll be helping you to sell more items than ever before - with no additional effort (we'll sync your listings, shipping, etc.), and many additional benefits.
Now that your basic account information has been migrated, we'll be working to bring your additional account information over within the next week or two, such as feedback, order history, etc. We're also currently working with our Sellers to sync over all item listings and stores, after which, bidStart will redirect accordingly to our new sites - so you'll no longer have to worry about managing separate accounts between Hip eCommerce and bidStart.
We've also been working to add additional features and enhancements over the past few weeks, and will be wrapping up one of our most requested features - paying by check or money order (for select sellers).
The Future of Other Collectibles at Hip eCommerce
Per our mission, we work to build the best websites around individual collectibles, so that we can provide the right features and devote our time and energy to proper marketing and building our brands together with you. In the future, we plan to expand into additional collectibles, but right now, our focus is on comic books, stamps and postcards (including ephemera); and we will not be offering any website for additional collectibles. If you currently list additional collectibles on bidStart (and only bidStart) we encourage you to download you inventory from the My bidStart area.
