Yes, very nice.

This series of stamps prompted the adoption of the CDS in Tasmania.
(CDS = Circular Date Stamp)

Until 1899 stamps were defaced with a numbered "Killer"
As this series was produced to promote the scenic beauty of the colony,
a switch to the more discreet CDS was made.

Thanks, and I much appreciate the info about the different cancellations.

It is such a great series of stamps. The initial issue of all values perf 14 x 14 is in strong colours and has a lot of eye-appeal.

The use of three printing methods, three types of watermarked paper and four perforation gauges (with further sub-types) and the aforemetnioned introduction of CDS cancels makes this seies a life-long challenge.

I purchased an auction lot of perforation anomalies from Tasmanian Stamp Auctions a couple of years ago and wrote them up yesterday. I commend Ross Ewington's auction house to you, an excellent web site and no buyers premium.

Here are some items from my collection:

Very nice 64id.

You fellows ought to have a list of Postmark rarities in your library,
not the least for perhaps financing other Tasmanian material.

I had a list of Unseen Tasmanian postmarks, which I appear to have misplaced.

Here is a part list from the Tasmanian Philatelic Org
Perhaps chase this up.

Rod,

Have you seen this?

A complete revision of rarity and well worth the price.

Right.
Not seen before, I must have an early example of his work as a *.pdf
My collection is not strong or wide enough to support the $25
but looks good.
Australiana Postmarks are a valuable income discipline, if one has the reference material.

Nice Tassies 64idgaf; I've been after the Specimens for quite some time, I'm trying to collect them all in well centered and mint unhinged condition. The different types of perforations I will need to add to my want list.

Thanks Rob.

I'm more interested in the front than the gum but even getting items of collectible quality can be tough. Marginal pieces will be your best bet for MNH but these are elusive.

I waited a long time to get the specimen set but eventually sourced the set for less than $150.

I noted one thread in the TPS forum where one collector had pairs with the 'missing stop after Specimen' flaw.

Apart from items related to Bruny Island, I don't collect the postmarks, you have to set some limits!
