Hello folks

Since childhood, I have over 100 Australia First Day Covers dating from April 1965 to November 1979. All have my typed address and are in good nick.

Before I dispose of them, can anyone tell me if there's any FDCs in that date range of value? Many thanks for sharing your expertise.

Dommcha

Opinion : CV from old catalogue

1965
2/6d Aborigine on white paper = $200

1965 2/3d clasped hands $8

FDC's of the 24 stamps issued 14/2/1966 $200

1970 Japanese expo 70 $125

1970 royal visit (2) $100

Captain Cook Bi centenary (5) small size $400

1971 christmas se tenant block of 7 $35

1974 aust paintings $50

a number of others at $7-$12

I have seen a full collection of Aust FDC sold some years ago for circa $2,000
so good luck with reaching any of these figures.

Best idea is to take the ones I have mentioned, and search on ebay for
examples.

Here is your Cook bi centenary (large size env) CV cat $25 ...asking $3

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/1970-COO...AOSwHoFXsDNp

The small with others asking $2.350.00

Thank you very much rod222. Very interesting and helpful info. I have a number of the ones you mention.
The Captain Cook covers are "WCS"; I gather from reading here that it means "Wesley", not official Aus Post, so perhaps not valuable.

"Wesley" are collectable Don,
especially the early models
I wasn't aware Wesley were still producing them by Cooks Bi-Cent.

FDC's are such a strange animal to deal with, we all have them in our stamp boxes,
some do collect them as a discipline, but I don't meet with many.

Sometimes at local stamp clubs, you can pick up boxes of the things, very cheaply, same as the "presentation packs"

You really need a dealer to appraise what you have.
but...Good Luck.

Don,
there is some info, general on FDC's from 2004
You will need to Google "Wesley FDC and Glen Stephens" perhaps?

I still don't hold out much for your time line of material.
He quotes $3000 for a complete collection 2004
