Canpex 2016 - London, Ontario, Canada October 15-16
2016 October 15, 16
CANPEX is the acronym for Canadian National Philatelic Exhibition, the first of which will be in 2016.

It is hosted by the Middlesex Stamp Club and is managed by volunteers from various stamp clubs in Southern Ontario and related philatelic organizations and societies.

CANPEX is one of a few National Level exhibitions and stamp marketplaces held annually in Canada. It is sanctioned by The Royal Philatelic Society of Canada and is part of the American Philatelic Societies "World Series of Philately".

CANPEX 2016
October 15-16, 2016
The Hellenic Community Centre
133 Southdale Rd. West
London, Ontario

Saturday 10-5, Sunday 10-4
Free Admission, free parking, lunch counter.

For travel information, "Directions", "Accommodations" and "Contacts" go to http://CANPEX.ca.

Each year CANPEX recognizes a significant event or milestone in the history of the area. For the 2016 exhibition we honour Frederick Banting, the co-founder of insulin. 2016 marks 125 years since the birth of this remarkable man.

CANPEX is an event where collectors can gather to purchase stamps and postal history, view an impressive array of exhibits, and renew old acquaintances. The highlight of the weekend is the awards reception. It's a great chance for everyone to socialize after the exhibits have been judged. Check "Reception" for information on tickets. Please join us as we celebrate philately and Stamp Collecting Month.

I'm considering attending. It's a bit further west than I thought. Even so, it's only about a 3 1/2 hour drive.

Are there any hotels associated with the show?

Edit: I went onto the CANPEX website. They do list some hotels. None are listed as affiliated.

Sorry, no idea as I'm not affiliated with CANPEX or any London area stamp organizations.

London is a large city, so there has to be lots of motels, inns, hotels, B7B's, etc,

I did a quick peek on the web. Some nice looking B&B's. Plenty of hotels. Middle of October, should be no problem finding something available.

The plan: Wife along with some friends join me for two nights in London. During the daytime, they head for Toronto (everyone from Rochester loves Toronto) while I attend the show. Win win!
