im having trouble finding this in my album and on the internet, the L H on one side is all I have. Someone along time ago did a very bad job cutting this off. This is a photo, I do not have a scanner if one is needed I will go to the library on Saturday and repost
1d reds with letters in all four corners were issued between 1858-79. This is Plate 118 - the plate number is shown in the design at each side of Victoria's head. Collecting the individual plates or making up sheets with all of the corner numbers is quite popular. I think even I might throw this one away, though!
As GeoffHa has stated it is plate 118. The stamps is S.G. 43/44 Die2 and has a watermark of a large crown, perforated 14. In good condition it would be worth UK£0.50 but in that condition it is less than a space-filler, sorry.
Thanks , I'm not going to throw it away, I'll repurpose it in some way. I have plenty of "garbage " stamps that would look good underneath some clear resin on a table or desk top. I'll have to put this one on my Christmas list
