Would any member have information, or links, to explain why the PTT (Postes, Telegraphes et Telephones) Overprints were introduced in 1917 please? PTT overprint aka "Oxheads" "Bullheads" Any information available to identify forgeries ? Thanks Detail : PTT overprint on 1884 Eastern Rumelia. Sc# 545 CV $45  |

1909 Newspaper Stamps. Steiner Page 72 This little bevy of beauties, attract a CV of $1,000 mint. I consider myself very fortunate, in finding the 5 piastre issue, floating around when I bought 2 pages of loose stamps. It may be a tad grungy, but it attracts a CV of $500 mint on its own. A nice "space filler" (Keeping in mind, it could be a forged opt of Sc#157, but I have no info on forged opts) I wonder what Newspaper article, attracted the attachment of the 5 piastre issue?  |

Eastern Rumelia / Eastern Roumelia : Forgery. A Turkish Province united to Bulgaria in 1885 Turkish stamps 1876-1884 Overprinted "R.O." in Blue RO = Roumelie Orientale. Scott Turkey #3 Black and Rose (CV $55 Mint) Note Sc# 3 and #8 were never placed in use.  |
