Someone got a new catalog...we want pictures & info! For some new catalog-searching inspiration: An actual new acquisition - which have been very scarce recently! A booklet from 1967. Isfila KN 14. Scott 1755a. Curious to hear what the new fancy cat says? Keep your eyes out for these...they're relatively recent, but not something you see alot. This was my first one! |

Quote: Someone got a new catalog...we want pictures & info! For some new catalog-searching inspiration: Michael, will do in time, currently reading (lots) trying to absorb it all. The Catalogues (Thanks to Postmaster ! )are almost too beautiful, I am tentative just opening the fellows, there will be no scanning of these fellows. They are a work of art. Currently working on the Dulos Issues. |

Rod, This obviously isn't my area of expertise, so take this with a grain of salt. I checked Philasearch to see if they listed any side-by-side for comparison. Take a look at this screenshot. The one on the left is the basic Michel listing in (brownish) red. The capital letter suffix indicates a perf variety. The one on the right has a lower-case "a" suffix, which in Michel's system, would indicate a color variety. I can't verify the exact shade as this variety is apparently only listed in Michel's Austria Specialized catalog. Yours appears to match the one on the right, the one that's not listed in the basic Michel. This would seem to indicate it's the rarer variety. And it certainly looks to the naked eye much more pale than a basic brown. |

That's a very nice find Rod whichever shade it is! It has excellent postmarks that leave most of the face clear. The catalogues have different listings for the perf 12 stamps. SG just lists SG 7c pinkish-brown. Michel lists Mi 7 I C braunrosa and Mi 7 I D (rotlich-)braun. |
