No need for scans - just the one sentence is enough - seems Isfila is sticking to their claim that they were not issued. I say we get the Scott folks & Isfila folks in a room & let them decide!

Thanks for sharing the French LA CANEE postmark.

It was another two years before the first stamps were issued specially for use by the French Post Offices in Crete.

In the meantime they used at least three values from this series and also some regular French stamps and postage dues.

The ISFILA 2016 specialised regime.

Here is the companion Price List to the latest Specialised catalogue.
There is resistance to this decision from some collectors, however I would support this move.

The Catalogue remains a valuable reference guide, to just about all varieties of Turkish Issues to 1922.

The Price list can be updated without further impost to the collector, when new pricing becomes necessary.

Downside:
The New Catalogues are almost too nice, I am a user of catalogues that can be manhandled daily, yet the ISFILA is heavy (supreme quality) fits too tight to the dust cover and can be unwieldy on the desk with albums and all the other bits and pieces we use.

Michel still remains to me, the best format, production value of any catalogue. Nice paper quality, supple, fits on the scanner platen etc etc.

ISFILA scans in the catalogue are just beautiful, large and clear with all varieties clearly defined.

That's wise Rene, one knows when a standard of catalogue is required, in the process of building a collection.
Advanced catalogues to a beginner may be a waste.

I'd been collecting Australia for about 9 years before investing in Brusden White.
That's a further example of the value of Scott, one can begin and sort a nice collection, fast and easily, prior to digging down into varieties and specialties of particular issues.

I would argue, however, (given the advantage of very deep pockets), one can never have too many catalogues.

Rod I think the 2 Western numbers in the datestamp read "26". Since Arab Script is read right to left, the 2 characters after "26" are the same thing, and as Turkey was using western dates by this time the outer 2 Arabic script figures are the date "20" and the third from the end is a "3" so date is "26-3-20" or March 20, 1926.
