Note:
On the above 500 Piastres.

Caveat: I am only a fumbling newbie here.

I note the curious perforation on the right hand side

Would this, I wonder, be the Perforation 13 variety of the Nazmi Stamp?
The comb was damaged, and a pin removed, so that the perforation of the whole vertical 6th row, is 13 instead of 13.25

I have measured the width of the stamp, looks like 25mm and the perforation (closer to 13 than 13.25)

I'd really like to forward this to Mr. Graf, for his appraisal.

Any members here, able to flip the perfs on the RHS and compare to the Left?

Wow.
Brilliant Phil ! Very much appreciated.
So I guess this is not a P13. That's sorted.

A couple of siblings to watch for, when first sorting Turkey.

That's good to know Rod, I'm sure I would have missed those. I need to double-check my collection. What's the difference between the two on the bottom (other than shade difference)?

Hi Chris,

The stamp on the right has two dots over the first "U" of "CUMHURIYETI" rather like a German umlaut.

Chris,
you shall have to get very familiar with the "UMLAUT" it is there to trick you on many issues,Kemal Ataturk definitives for example.

I dragged out my mint unhinged for closer view........

(good example of deep Blue versus deep Ultramarine)

Since this seems to be the Turkey Thread. I have a couple of unknowns. I am assuming they are Revenues, but not sure.

The cancel on the right one almost looks like it starts with a Greek theta (which would be interesting)

Can anyone help ID them?

Hi DC Stamps, the left hand one looks like a newspaper stamp, applied to the newspaper and then with text from the newspaper printed over it. Those more knowledgable than me (pretty nearly everybody here tbh!) can probably confirm or deny my suggestion

The same is true for the stamp on the right.

You often find other languages such as Greek and Armenian printed on these stamps.

Wow, this thread moves so fast, I can't keep up. Yes, I missed the "two dots" on the first set because of the cancelation ink over it. Thanks nigelc and Rod for clarification. I have noticed this on other issues.

BTW, my wife says that the two dots should not be there...the word means "republic"
