Ay Yildiz Stamps.
Personal Observation:

All Stamps Perf 13.25, were printed by Ahmed Nazmi Matbaasi print house.
All Nazmi Stamps are Comb perforate.

Being all Comb perforate, (On 1 side) the distance between the pins must be identical.
On the other side, the bed of the perforater is adjustable, to allow for the puncture pins to suit an advance, on each puncture stroke, to suit the best distance between each line of stamps on the sheet. (Single Comb)

Ergo, I postulate that the Nazmi sheets were placed sideways on the perforator bed.

Proof:
Every Nazmi print stamp, will be identical in the length, from tooth tip, to tooth tip. (25˝mm) being the distance of the forme of the perforator pin block. (Otto Graf)

The width of the stamp can vary.

Any variance of the length of a Nazmi print, should indicate a private perforation.

Hard to believe this thread is up to 70 pages now! There is so much useful information here, wish there was an easy way to search and/or index all this info.

Well no idea what 'unlisted 605' means...it's listed - as #605??

So that seems a good place to start - low value!

Scott #605 - Isfila #1109 - Isfila #1137 - Isfila #1148:

Scott calls 605 gray black. They call 605b greenish gray, and 605c black.

Isfila calls 1109 Grey-Black; 1137 as Slate-Grey; and 1148 as Grey-Black.

Scott 605/Isfila 1109 are perf 13/thin paper/1st printing

Scott 605b/isfila 1137 are 2nd printing/thick paper/perf 10 3/4 (Isfila) & 11 (Scott).

Scott 605c / Isfila 1148 is 3rd printing/thick paper/perf 12.

All types illustrated (I assume) & you can see the range of color variation...

On your previous comment about my comment, I do agree !
I appreciate your expertise with the (Turkey) stamps and I am still doing inventory on them. I checked the dots and no dots.......great, Scott has helped me differentiate (2009 edition). Will come back to the last pages because of the wealth of info and re-check all my stamps.
Thank you !

René

Blissfully unaware of the HUGE revamp of Scott Catalogue.
Checked my latest 2017 catalogue.
I was working from the basic 2007.

Still have problems with latest Scott.
1. Still quote "Lithography" when I prefer Letterpress.
2. "Scott does not list higher values for "Dette Publique" issues. (Perf 13.5)
I am going to remain with Otto Graf on these.

Example : Sc#622 Perf 13.5 Dette Publique

100 Piastres grouping.

Renewed cliche? "slanting 100 piastres"
Cut Cancel..........very rare for me... first seen on a lower value than 500 Piastres.
(Perhaps a "Re-use prevention" regime, by a company?)

Ay Yildiz study.

Based on the Otto Graf premise, the 10 Piastre (Blue) listed in Scott, is not a Nazmi Printing House Issue, rather a Dette Publique Ink change.

Perforation Guages 13.25 and 13.5 (13.5 unlisted Scott)

Unlisted Scott.
