Hi guys...Take a look at this Scott 1708...I took a normal picture of the bottom of this stamp with a USB microscope..Then I took a picture with a UV light.

Notice where the arrows are pointing..A different colour/smudge..?

Robert

I once saw Garfield checking out one of those $10 Whale stamps under different wavelengths of light at the VGG Foundation using that VSC 6000 machine.

When you look under different wavelengths of light, you see different things with Canada stamps, most cases for Security. What you have may be related to this.

You may have seen this before where a hidden diver shows up under UV Light on this stamp.

All the Year of the Tiger stamps were printed with the tagging like that.

Robert, a lot of Canadian stamps have "cut-outs" in the tagging, where inked parts of the design goes in the margin. I think it is because the tagging and the ink don't mix well during printing. If you have the 2016 Unitrade, check page 24 for the explanation.
