Could anyone help me with this stamp:
I've looked it up and I think it's a French Algerian 1927 "La Pecherie Mosque".
But what's with the bottom edge of the stamp? Wouldn't the stamp design continue down onto the perforations where the stamp edge jogs upward if it were an EOF? The design looks like it was intentionally made to be that oddball shape. I can't find any references and I've looked through 100's of EFOs on the Web. Anyone familiar with this?
Many thanks!

EFO = Errors, Freaks and Oddities.

I'd suggest the stamp is merely folded or crimped,
if you have a look under magnification, you will see the paper doubled.

Romania has issues listed as "printed on folded paper" or similar verbiage,
I suggest this stamp of yours would appear normal after soaking.

Ok! That would explain it.
But if it's folded it's folded under so much pressure that under magnification it looks to be just a continuous piece of paper, I see no seams or evidence of paper folding. But I had a thought to measure the thickness of paper at the bottom vs the top. At the top it measures 0.10 mm, at the bottom it measures 0.14 mm! Case closed I think.
I'd be afraid it would come apart at the 'seam' if I were to soak it, because of how greatly it's squished.
Does the condition it's in now add or subtract from its value?
Thanks!

I have recalled the correct verbiage.

"Printed on creased paper" (Romania)

If yours perchance is printed on creased paper, then yes, you would, in my opinion, have a valuable "variety"
However I would doubt that.

I high def scan would surely identify the occurance, or a loupe, if you have one
Good luck, tread carefully, and let us know any results.

Google "philately printed on creased paper" (then select "images" ) and see all the examples how a stamp looks when identified.

It looks to me like this stamp was folded after printing. If it was folded before the right hand border would show straight even across the fold. As a matter of fact, the stamp image would be whole despite the fold.
