I had recently exhibited my collection on Flowers in a National Level competition and won a Large Vermeil and Best Exhibit awards for thematic class. And it was a very joyful moment for me having participated after almost 8 years. |

I've been mounting stamps from various countries onto album pages. At the moment I'm working on some Swedish stamps. |

@angore:
A little of column A, a little of column B.
The proximate cause was that there are a couple of books in the APS store that I wanted to buy. When I accounted for the member discount, becoming a member made financial sense. And now that I am a member, I imagine that I will take advantage of other benefits (e.g., circuit book sales, stamp store, buy more books).
I had an APS membership during my 2nd stamp collecting period back in the '90s. It was a useful part of my collecting hobby then; I am hoping I will find it be useful now.

Dublin. New Irish Definitives issued today. Mostly Stamps on a Roll (SOAR). From the Philatelic Bureau I got the eight designs at National Rate. One set to be retained as mint and the other eight sent to myself. Also picked up the booklet and coil stamps....again mint and others sent to myself. As these stamps can be issued in any value, I brought some older stamps with me so that I could "top up" with some unusual values such as 2 cents, 4 cents whatever. Disappointted that the new definitives are not yet available at regular post offices counters but no big deal as I will be doing this all year at different post offices. So in the next few days, the envelopes I posted will be delivered. |

One of the things I need to do this year is to clear stuff out - both the boxloads of duplicates and the countries that I'm going to divest. Began today on Central America, and I hadn't realised how utterly miserable my Costa Rican "collection" was. Not very many, mostly low values and some of the earlies thinned. No holiday on the French Riviera there, then - not even a half-bottle of Chablis, in fact. |

Bought a lot of 200 used stamps of Ireland. I have 2007 Scott cat. on cd and a 2014 cat. from the library. I'm building a listing with comparative values. I will collect Ireland all used. It"s a slow process because I spend time reading about what a stamp is about. It make the hobby more interesting for me. Daniel |

I inventoried all my mounts. I still need a better organization method. |

The "used" versions of the new Irish definitives all arrived safely today. I never like firsr day cancellations so these are clear "ordinary" cancellations thru the Philatelic counter. Pretty pleased that they were all received within 48 hours of posting. They will be in my album within an hour. |

Scanning, and more scanning. 3 hours a day for the last 2 weeks. Getting my French Polynesia ready for sale. About 5 more days should see me done. |

On page 12 I mentioned on this thread that I was due to make some presentations to our local philatelic society. I've posted them in the World Covers and World Picture Postcards sections of this forum. |
