The best is yet to come Jon! I also won the B-I-G prize for best "stamps" category with this one about the Rise and Fall of German East Africa. Thanks go to Gerben van Gelder for his excellent maps! Apparently the display will move on to the next (regional) level for judging. I felt good about this one, as there was some very tough competition from exhibits about Denmark 1854 Skilling definitives, and Soviet Occupation of Germany.

@Tim - Most interesting history. Absolutely awesome stamps - I would say your GEA collection is at a somewhat different level than mine .....

Working on reorganizing my albums so I have info tags next to the stamps. Not a fast process, but now there will be at least info about each stamp with the stamps, and an easy way to look "at a glance" what stamps I need to get (I was using excel just to print a key for the pages and then highlighting the stamps I got as I went along, but then the excel file got corruped and lost all the data setup I had created. So not gonna let that happen again! )

DJCMHOH - I like your work, thanks for sharing Seems to be a major job to make tags for all stamps you have - I am impressed with your ambition!

Interestingly I am more or less working on the same as yourself right now, reorganising into Vario sheets (not Algeria for the time being tough). And just as you, I've also started to add tags for single stamps, though I have selected the opposite approach - making tags only for stamps that are missing.

Thank you for your previous recommendation to go for Vario. I have really enjoyed the changeover to Vario sheets so far - and another benefit of the Vario sheets compared to my (previous) stockbook solution, is that the vario pages goes in the scanner
So these pages above are the first album pages I have ever scanned However when I opted for the vario Grande pages I did not consider that the Grande format is just a little too large for conventional scanner beds. And the fact that the pages are getting slightly bent on the scanner bed frame is additionally causing some blurr at the edges. Arrrrrghhh

Your loss of excel data - what a catastrophe! My stamp tags for missing stamps are automatically generated from my own Excel Inventory database. With your recent experience in mind, I will make back-ups to a safe drive at frequent intervals, thank you for the warning.

Picked up my rebound Scott International Postage Stamp Album (I believe this is known as the "Junior" Scott album) from a local bookbinder. They did a great job and now I can't wait to begin filling it.
