Even though Hong Kong and Singapore are cities, they were also colonies or possessions and thus a legit stamp-issuing entity. Of course, we all collect our own way so I just wanted to clarify that point. I agree about Macau, and Aden is another example of a city for which stamps were issued (by Great Britain). |

Is Hong Kong just a city? There is HK island, Kowloon, and the rather more wild New Territories. |

All so! And as I glance at my list, some others pop up -- like Alexandria, Port Said, Goa, and the China treaty ports. So my initial recollection was too incomplete. |

Salonica's on my page 19. If a city's listed in Scott or Gibbons it's on my list, too. What I meant to avoid was those strictly local city issues that are not in those catalogs and which I might not know about. This discussion has inspired me to create addenda pages for those unlisted places if I may come across them. Thank you all! |

My own "one from everywhere" collection is limited to unused 19th-century postal cards, which cuts down the number of places to collect considerably, but even so, I still need LOTS of cards issued by local private posts, especially in Germany. I have 258 card-issuing entities covered in my collection already, but there are at least 115 that I'm still lacking, and probably more that I don't know about. |

Quote: Batum is a city that issued stamps under occupation. Correct. Not much changed there as it, essentially, is occupied by Russian puppets at the moment. Salonica housed a British field post office that, briefly, used its own stamps intended for use at a public post office on Mount Athos. |

Started going through a couple of Minkus albums I picked up from ebay. Tried a test with AlbumEasy to use ledger size (11x17) pages, but set border for 11x12. Then off to UPS store to print a test. Came out nice, but the operator was not sure what weight paper would work. Need to try again during week when the "printer" guy works. |

Quote: I only know Batum as an island in Indonesia. That is Batam. Batum, currently, Batumi is in Georgia (the country on the Black Sea). |

Yesterday, cataloged some more issues from Hungary between 1977-1983. Will mount these soon. |
