Continuing my multi-year effort to get all my loose stamps onto album pages. I received back to back APS sales circuits and picked up a few dozen classics and also received a recent order of stamp packets. My wife bought some stamps via the internet for me too. So, I've been working through quite the eclectic selection of stamps: classics, Machins, modern CTOs, mint U.S. 3-centers, mint U.N., G.B. penny red plate numbers, et al.

Today is my 1 Month Anniversary on SCF!. Also, today, I posted responses, images on "Recent Forum Topics". Working towards my 50 posts. This should be my 29th. On a separate website, I continue to catalog (digitize) my stamp cover and ephemera collection to spread Hawaii's history to the world.

Slowly but steadily working on my sheet construction works of Japan hand engraved documentary revenue, 5th Issue 10 Sen blue.

Just filled two positions of Plate I using ebay materials arrived yesterday.

Now 11 more positions remaining, and I know from my experience the last stretch is the most tough road to go...

I am watching season 2, episode 2 of the British detective "Grace". A stamp collection plays a role. One of the stamps is a Penny Red plate 77.

Back in 1976, I got my first album. Scott Minuteman. It still contains my original U.S. used collection. Nothing of value since I was only 12. A couple years later I bought the Scott National and used that for my MNH and pre-1935 used stamps. Everything in that album is mounted with (mostly black) Showguard mounts. It has been untouched for a long time, too, though I kept adding supplements through the year 2000 and buying direct from local post offices.

Over the past week, I started creating pages for U.S. stamps through #771. The intent is to use these pages for MH stamps, but it will also include used stamps to fill gaps (some taken from my Scott National) until I can upgrade. So far, I mounted most of what I have from #212 to #771, except the Washington-Franklins. I still have to redo the pages and do some additional identification. Don't get too excited. Most every stamp before #597 is used, though everything beyond that is MH (except 634A).

Moved on to the Canada pile of my Kiloware, which was over 1 lb by itself. Had some good success as my Canada album ends at 1967 but the stamps went into the 90's so a lot of 70's to 90's stamps I did not have. Storing them right now until I figure out if I am going to print out pages or not. The usual duplications on the definitive series were a blessing as I was able to pull out some good booklet and coil varieties to round out what I already had, mostly on QE2 series but a few from earlier also. Also pulled out a few florescent but wasn't going down any rabbit hole with different tagging or degree of glow varieties. Going to rain again this weekend, eyeing Spain and the Scandinavian countries next.

While digging through a couple of my stamp drawers, I found a stack of various worldwide souvenir sheets and modern (up to 2010) mint U.N. stamps. My U.N. collection is mounted on Scott pages in two volumes up to the mid-1990s when I stopped buying supplements. I'll mount the later stamps on Steiner pages and create a third volume. The souvenir sheets are unprocessed, so I will need to identify, inventory and incorporate. I need to check my supply of large-size mounts and order more as required.

Attended the Rocky Mountain Philatelic Library's 18th Annual Large Lots Auction today. 272 lots with a wide variety of some nice material. Picked up a Scott International album loaded with primarily Latin and South America stamps.

Attended the WALPEX Stamp show in Boxborough MA. Light attendance due to rain, but dealers spoke of good showing Saturday. Got some good bargains for back-filling some early 30's issues. Hadn't been to a show in a couple of years (covid or health). Looking forward to late April show run by Northeast Federation. (Need to prepare better-I say that every year). It's an hour's drive but worth it this time around. Now I'll be reviewing the purchases for that hidden treasure. (got c. $200 CV for $70 and a couple of show covers).

The week before last I was at a conference in Portland, OR, traveling on Amtrak from eastern WA. I played hooky Thursday afternoon to visit the Uptown Stamp shop, and visited there again Saturday before catching my train home. Last Wednesday the local stamp club in the Tri-Cities of eastern WA had one of their semi annual auctions. I only spent about $20 between the two places (I need to make a want list) but had a great time nonetheless.

I attended Walpex on Saturday and there did seem to be a good turnout. I arrived around noon and it had started at 10:00. There was a line to sign in for the door prizes and at multiple tables it was standing room only. I'd be curious to hear dealer opinions about the turnout.

Finally got all plate positions of the 3 cent silver teapot additional postage stamp. Plate number S1111 from 20007. Surprisingly, it took several months and ending up with many 3 cent stamps to add to my postage use! If anyone wants a pane of 20 let ne know, I have a bunch of extras.

I had left knee replacement on Oct 16th so my stamping time has been limited to what I can do downstairs where my bedroom is rather than upstairs where my stamp room and main PC are. So limited to my kindle fire and cellphone (although surprisingly can do most of the computer things I need with my kindle). Hopefully will be able to start doing the stairs later this week and then I'll have plenty to do while on medical leave until mid-January 2024

DJCMHOH - I also had my left knee replaced back in Oct 2016. It took me about 3 weeks to be reasonably mobile and able to leave the house. May you be pain free, have quick healing and great mobility!!
