unechan, Congratulations! I do understand the amount of time, research and content that it requires. I hope you will continue to do well in the future.

Getting back to this topic, today, I scanned 2 more pre-1900 covers in a website to be stored digitally. Today is also my 2nd month anniversary with SCF. To date, I have scanned 103 images within SCF in various topics.

hello all. today spent about three hours sorting danish stamps looking for the stamps of the master engraver szeslaw slania, and started putting them in a springback album using mounts , gone from years 1962 to1967 at the moment, plus close to 100 of his stamps put in a stockbook.

Over the weekend id'd and mounted some stamps from the British Offices in Morocco, both Spanish and French overprints. Took a good amount of time between stamp design, watermark, perforations and overprint type. But pleased to have some of this material in my album now for reference.

Congratulations unchan on your accomplishment. I have not yet exhibited but am thinking of starting with a one frame.

Great work

Dianne

Got my USA 2023 year set put away in its Vario album. Got the $10, Priority Mail and Express Mail singles at face via USPS via their 2023 high values set collection, as well as the Waterfalls and Life Magnified mini sheets (they were out of Endangered Species). The rest I got via a dealer on Hip stamp who sells at face +50%.

Also got my copy of the Artar Specialized Catalogue of Armenia direct from Yerevan. Has excellent illustrationsof the various types of overprints from 1918-1923 that the Big 4 catalogues just gloss over.

Today I decided to continue my quest for Album Pages and Leaning Album Easy. I've been infatuated with worldwide topical stamps related to Disney. Last week I finished USA_Disney which took me about two months to learn AE and adjust the look to something that pleased my eye. Today I started and completed Canada_Disney ( easy, only one SS ). Zambia_Disney ( only two SS ) and Anguilla_Disney ( Monster 22 pages ). I don't have all the stamps yet but I can now work on getting them.

How great to have a catalogue in English with such fascinating detail. I have some great catalogues in German. The illustrations make me want to find out more ...........

Sadly I studied Geography instead of German at school. Really clever boys did Classical Greek, duffers like me did Geography. I can get by in French if there's a dual language option, and I'm gradually acquiring "key word" vocabulary but generally it involves a lot of laboriously typing dense chunks of text into Google Translate

Cris if you have Adobe Acrobat Pro you may be able to convert a print screen or cropped photo into text, which then can be copied and pasted into translate.

@shermae

thanks for that suggestion. I don't have Adobe Pro, but I'll look for a Character Recognition programme that I can use on my MacBook Air and see if that's a workaround. I remember having a rather primitive one back in the day which although primitive worked OK so things should have got better with all the advances since the nineties!

Thanks again, best wishes, Crispin

There appears to be free OCR software out there. I use Abbyy that came with my scanner.

I have been working on the box lot that I received a week or so ago. I have been mounting stamps in both individual country albums and Scott Internationals (to 1960). Any that don't find a home get mounted in my 11 volume Harris WW albums. I have mounted over 700 stamps so far and this has allowed me to pass the 100,000 all different mounted stamps.
Will start on the 2nd 100,000 tomorrow.
