Farnham is a city in Brome-Missisquoi Regional County Municipality in the Montérégie region of Quebec, Canada. Not far from Montreal, where most people know where it is .....

That region was hit hard in 1998 by an Ice storm

This morning I finished designing pages for the 1922-1925 regular issue stamps, printed them on cream 110lb cardstock, and added showgard mounts for the few issues I have for that series. This evening, I'm designing the pages for the Presidential (prexie) series. I bought the complete basic prexie set this past week, so will mount those when the pages are complete and printed out.

I started at Solomon Island album using Steiner pages. Since this was the first stamps added, I decided to experiment with using clear rather than black mounts for mint or higher value stamps plus see how it works with hinged issues.

Also. as a cost saving experiment, I purchased mounts (2x the needed size) and cut them in half to lower the cost of mounts especially if I use them for used as well. The key test is retention ability.

Hi Angore. those clear mounts look great on the Steiner pages. I do wonder why one prefers clear mounts versus hinges for mounting used stamps.

Mounts are expensive and would cost more than the stamp in the mount.

Went to a local show today and picked up some good buys on empty spaces in my Canada, Honduras and Barbardos collections, as well as some postcards from my small hometown of Waynesboro, PA. I also snagged a Solar Eclipse stamp used on a cover, which I will mount as collateral material.

I went to a small Tolkien symposium near St. Louis the weekend before the eclipse (and stayed for the eclipse, of course). My friend who chaired the symposium and his wife prepared special cards and special envelopes with the solar eclipse stamp to be mailed to all the attendees, as well as all those who usually attend but couldn't this year. The cards weren't ready in time, so they didn't get mailed out on eclipse day, but what is really unfortunate is that mine (at least) was fed through the cancelling machine the wrong way, so the postmark is on the BACK of the cover.

Spent way too long staring at a set of US Columbian stamps to figure out which ones were regummed. In the end only a couple were - but I find this one of the hardest tasks. Here is a hi-res scan of a few perfs of one of them. See if you come up with the same answer I did.

angore,

Honestly, I use PowerPoint to design and print my pages. I have a set of templates that I use and it has worked well for me. Each page is designed to include specific information on each issue like printer, gum, watermark, tagging, issue city, and date. I also like to add other relevant information such as errors or varieties when I include them. I use 110 pound cardstock for all pages and different colors for each category that I collect. Here are a few sample pages.

made another page for my 1851-57 album. This one is just a few grid cancels. Red, blue, two different style black and one with a double. Eventually all these pages will have text, illustrations and pictures. Hoping to make the album interesting and informative.

No takers on my challenge - well I decided it was regummed. Final decision was really based on my eyeballs - not the scan - so it was a trick question.

You did a great job with PowerPoint. These pages are top of the notch for me. When I started to make my own pages I worked with Albumeasy. The pages are nice but have not beautiful frames like you. Then I decided to buy the cd from Steiner. Enjoy the hobby. Daniel
