Question- after posting the images I noticed the f1 stamp in the UNTEA set has a thinner font than the others, especially the "N." Could it be the wrong stamp, making this set incorrect?

In reply to the question by shermae.

I cannot really see the stamp mentioned.

However there is a small number of stamps of the series with a smaller overprint.

The difference when compared to a regular size one is clear and easy to spot.

Shown are a pair of stamps. The one on the right is normal size, the one on the left is the smaller overprint.

Been winnowing my postcards over the last week or so, and have got a couple of hundred of them on ebay, chiefly as job lots. This year, auction outgoings are going to have to be matched by ebay income, which has been nil so far, due to post-Christmas idleness.

DJCMHOH,

That is a great site. Actually, the best I've seen yet. My approach was to buy (in order) from post office, the fulfillment center, ebay. Then Mystic for the commemorative and regular issue year sets.

After doing so this year, I found that Mystic did not include Scott 5242 which is in the 2017 supplement. I don't know why it wasn't included. They have always offered everything in the supplement in the past which is why I go to them.

So I went to ebay to buy the 5242. It cost me $1.60. I see that Connections offers the same stamp for $.75. So thank you DJCMHOH. I have bookmarked this site.

Jack

Fort Pitt Philatelics often sells year sets. Cheaper than Mystic.

Today was the first time since my liver transplant I was able to go upstairs to my stamp room and actually work on stamps for a few hours. Until today trying to sit upright at a desk was too taxing on my energy, but as my recovery has progressed I can do more and more each day. So for me today was one of the best days philatelically I have had in a long time.

DJCMHOH,

Great news! How long ago was your surgery? I had a similar problem (for a couple of weeks) after my total knee replacement surgery in late 2016.

Walkman my transplant was on the 7th of Feb. I've been very fortunate in that the new liver has been accepted by my body very smoothly, actally even the doctors have been amazed how smoothly things have gone. Apparently I must have had a lot of positive karma saved up as things have been pretty much smooth sailing. My biggest problem is forgetting to let my body heal at its own speed rather than try to be too active and overtax things.

Fortunately I still have almost 5 months of paid sick leave left before I go back to work (thank you Union health & welfare plan!) so I can give my body the time it needs to fully recover.

DJCMHOH, glad you are back.

As for my activities, I spent a couple hours mounting Bermuda and Bahamas stamp as I work on my KVI era (generally) collection.

Work continues on the transition to Steiner Pages. Working country-by-country A-Z, I'm now on China. I'm now on my second large binder--the A-B countries completely filled a large binder.

Also just ordered a dual-wavelength UV lamp from Subway Stamps to attribute tagging on stamps. It's going to get a lot of use...

DJCMHOH, thanks for sharing. Glad you have enough sick leave to take your time to heal, it's important not to rush your recovery. Plus you get to spend some time with your stamps.

I mounted a variety of definitives and plate number coils today. I also designed and printed pages for the 1943-1944 Overrun Countries issue.

I have been working my way through both recent and not so recent acquisitions the last week. Finished mounting a small collection of Guernsey I picked up almost a year ago last night, and might have a go at that Gibraltar collection I bought at the same time tonight.
