Received my 2018 Scott Volumes 1A(US/UN) and 1B (A countries of the world) last night. I'd planned to revisit early Austria and Australia but fell asleep with the catalogues at my side :-) Long day at work again today, but at least there is the StampCommunity to check out and share philatelic moments with when I can sneak it in!

Tonight I may find time to actually turn a few more Scott Catalogue pages. I always like to check out new issues. Well, at least LAST year's new issues, as the catalogues run about a year behind!

Thank you Trainwreck. I ended up buying a binder at Walmart. It fit perfectly for the those pages. Now I just need to fill them with stamps :)

Nice looking binder, CP2018. I do wonder if a zippered binder will allow sufficient air circulation. What are others' thoughts?

Good question. I wanted one which can close like this to protect it from dust but you are right, maybe it would be best to let it open a bit.

You ever go through your album and there's a stamp that doesn't really meet your standards, but it's been there since you were 9 so it's like an old friend? Yesterday I removed a poorly centered and washed out color copy of Scott U.S. #372 with an XF MNH copy. My "old friend" has been relegated to a stock book that houses duplicates.

I have recently returned from a 3-week trip to the UK, Catalonia and South of France taking in 9 Philatelic 'Events' on the way.
It was a unique and unusual trip.

Getting ready for a busy September bidding in several auctions and acquiring Fall project material. Lots of great material available. I am getting excited.

I have a trimmed 370 that I've had since I was about 12. It would fool no one, but I keep it because it takes me back to those first magical days of stamp collecting. At the time it was the oldest stamp I had.

When it comes to those "old friend" issues, I have a picture frame on the wall of my home office that I add them to...I just love seeing them every time I walk into the room.

Preparing an exhibition for a competition for the Australian Commonwealth Collectors Club in June 2019 titled "Australian Errors and Varieties". Hopefully I'll win.

I started moving stamps from a old SG album I purchased to my Steiner album. I was not surprised that there are spaces for stamps not in Scott albums or on Steiner pages but it seems the original owner was not careful with identification. I already found uncertain color differences, incorrect perforations, and watermark. I just started with Aden with QEII stamps (not a real difficult area) and did not make a lot of progress. I do have enough minor Scott varieties to create a custom album page.
