I have been transferring stamps from some Scott pages to my Steiner pages. Scott crammed a lot of issues on this page. The appearance is not helped by the mounting technique. You will note whomever added the catalog numbers and grade used a new condition NH U meaning Used Never Hinged. |

I suppose he subjected them to chemical analysis to establish that no old hinge had been soaked off. |

' Preparing for NOJEX:
- printed the BOLO (Be On the Look Out for) list;
- printed the Native Tongue Ancestral Town Names (even though the spellings change) list;
- printed the Schedule of Events (so I don't have to keep finding page X in the bloody booklet);
- printed the "fast pass" admission form.
Cheers,
/s/ ikeyPikey (who also remembered to reserve a seat at a club dinner) |

I woke very early this morning, brownsed through an on-line approvals book and bought many (in fact, too many!) used Swedish stamps that I was missing. A good day start! |

Hello all!
It's been quite some time! Had to deal with a lot of things (work and school) and haven't had the time to pop in and say hello. I spent a good bit of time catching up on some of the threads posted here this afternoon, and I perused through some of the stamps I've not sorted through, seems like a good worldwide mix of stamps. I have the day off tomorrow so I look forward to spending as much of the day as I can doing that. Hope everyone is doing well otherwise! |

Quote: I discovered this stamp. Any value? Any interest? Spain, Amanda. Opinion : Nice stamp, (Charity Stamp...No Postal Value) not often seen, worth small change. Painting Velazquez PS: I have been chasing a Spain Catalogue (Galvez) for 10 years, still cannot afford them ($300+) |

I have actually attended meetings of two stamp clubs. I thought I would never do this but I very much enjoyed myself. One was fairly formal (a display) and the other was very informal, just sortig thru kiloware and awelcome throwback to 50 odd years ago. Also updated my list of post offices in the Republic of Ireland. This is important so that I can plan visits to get the four digit SOAR stamps. Also trying to plan ahead a little. As I have also met up with some PostCrossers and learning a little about postcard design and production. I like Philately for Phun (or is it Filately for Fun) projects. So hopefully I might get a sneak peak at next years stamp programme. Id guess it will include Centenary of League of Nations, 75th anniversary of United Nations and (probably) Olympic Games. I am also thinking in terms of Brexit and I think it might be the Centenary of the Birth of actress Maureen O'Hara (who was in all those John Ford movies). Also have to pick up more kiloware before Christmas. |

Last Wednesday (the day before Thanksgiving) I went to the regularly scheduled meeting of the local stamp club, which I just joined last April. I was wondering if the meeting would be held but it was on the club's website calendar, I hadn't received any notice of a cancellation, and I couldn't attend the October meeting, missing any announcements made there.
There was just one other person in attendance, someone new attending for the first time … obviously the meeting had been canceled and I'm not on their communication link yet.
He had brought a box of several thousand non US stamps that he didn't want / need, and the two of us spent the next hour and a half picking through it. I came home with 26 very nice additions to my topical interests (cows, the Red Cross, Franklin Roosevelt).
