New Fake Coils From Ebay Seller

Here are a two new coils offered by the seller Georgetownlaw that are fakes. The production of the 1914 series coil was changed a bit when the Bureau added an extra wheel to trim off the excess paper on the outside of the pasted together sheets. The two coils exhibit a "step", or uneven edges at the paste-up. This would not exist on a genuine coil from the 1914 issue. Also, the nice clean holes are another give a way as to a fake.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention! The fakers are getting sloppy - the spacing of the center perfs of the bottom pair leaves a lot to be desired.

This is a seller that is very liberal with his blocking of bidders. This has been discussed in other threads on here. I always thought it was because he was just a pain in the neck sort of seller. Now it occurs to me that if some of your stuff is faked maybe you want to limit your bidding to people you think are less likely to question what they get from you. If that's the case his user name is doubly ironic.
