Hello, first posting, if there is a more appropriate place, please let me know. this stamp has come into my possession, I cannot find it in any catalogue, and even Google doesn't help! It could be a Cinderella I suppose, but it has a value of $5, I would be surprised if they issued a fiscal stamp for a jubilee.

Great cinderella! Welcome to SCF, oldbazza.

Has the gum survived?

Looks like a computer made stamp ,first the background scroll work is not clear and the overprint of "Singapore" looks too modern to be from the classic era. Hope I am wrong and somebody knows the history .

I see your point, but it is an awful lot of work to go through to create a fake stamp for such an obscure event, it does look modern. If fake, I am curious to know how the perforations were cut so well

Oldbazza, one can purchase perforated sheets online. Since Straits Settlements and Singapore seem to be "hot" now (Chinese collectors), it would not be surprising if this were a modern fabrication.

If you expose the item to a long wave ultraviolet lamp and the paper is very bright, then you will know that this is a modern item.

My long wave UV lamp is kaput,(grrr, only used it once) but having looked at it with a microscope, I suspect that you have nailed it, print quality looks too good for the period, no gum, nothing else that I know of fits the bill. Thanks to both of you for your help.
