The Finnish Post service issued 72 diffrent types of City Arms in small number of copies printed as personalized stamps The stamp cost more than a normal post rates. This is a good business for the Finnish Postal Services, but not for collectors.
I suppose this is one of the rare modern opportunities we have to collect such a large quantity of different stamps based purely on what comes through our letterboxes, something that stamp collecting used to be based upon. Such a shame the UK doesn't do anything like this - I don't think I'll ever meet anyone who says he collects the countless Machin definitives that come through our doors!
I actually think I did see somebody who said they collected the Machin definitives (maybe the older ones?). That sounds like a good way to give yourself a perpetual migraine, but I'm sure it's somebody's cup of tea.
