The Scott Russia #B18a mint no hinged surcharge Major Error: denominated 100 p + 100 p rather than 100 r + 100 r Retails for over $140.00 Does anybody know anything about this Russian Stamp? my attachment has an "additional error "broken letter p" or double letter p in(the first letter p after 100).

Your stamp is a regular Scott B18 ("100 p. + 100 p."). Scott B18a has a "100 p. + p. 100" surcharge (with second "p." before "100" instead of being after "100"). There is no letter "r" in Russian alphabet; Scott is misleading in this case, using English "r" in one line, and Russian "p" (which stands for "r" sound in "rouble") in another line. |

It does seem that your stamp has a double first "p." However, the best Russian catalog I have (Solovyev) doesn't list this variety. Solovyev lists three other varieties of this stamp: "p" without dot; "#1070;" misiing' and blue oveprint upside down. |

Are we sure that this is a double p? To me, it looks like the background brown color is placed just right to make it look so. I think it is just a normal p. Can you zoom in on just this area and give us a larger picture? |

it might NOT be a double p.and I never said I was a stamp expert.but there does appears to be a split or seperation in the first letter p of the subject stamp.. |

Looks like slight under-inking, or a dust particle on the stamp when the overprint hit, or something adhered on top. I don't see a break in the overprint metal.

Awesome catch, zoom in on the letter in question..looks like a full good 'p' to me. IMO it's the background making it look doubled..Very cool |

after further study under a high power magnifier we got us a letter p which has been not printed 100% or either scratch in that portion of the stamp. |

Hello, I'm searching for information about this russian stamp Sc # 194 issued in 1922 It has expertise marks at the bottom left and at the bottom right . Does anybody recognize the expertise marks ?I already searched the web (www.filatelia.fi),perhaps just overlooked something... Here's a close up What is the reason it was expertised twice? It seems to be a quite cheap stamp. I could be wrong, but the back of the stamp has what appears to be an overprint offset on back, similar(at least to me) to the one I found at this link https://www.russianstamps.com/resul...mp=no&gp=rz2 on the same value of the series(see below). Thanks in advance |

There is a slight trace of an offset. Yours is somewhat better than the one in the block.
edit: in your example, the offset is shifted to the left of the overprint and you can recognise the letters. In the block it is shifted to the bottom and you, hardly, recognise the offset print. |

Alka - Your stamp is Zagorsky 37Td with a value of US$20 in MNH condition. The marks are those of the Soviet Philatelic Association (SFA). |
