Hello all

I'm a new member and, aside from a couple of posts in the 'Introduce Yourself' forum, this is my first proper post. On advice, I've posted this older stamp in this forum and I'm hoping someone out there can identify it. I had a scrawled note saying 'Moroccan Imperial Post, but I can't find this anywhere now. Can anyone help with this or with the stamp which I've posted in the World Modern forum that I've also spent hours and hours trying to identify.

Many thanks

Marc

Morocco, Poste Cherifienne. Looks like the 1912 issue, which has smaller margins than a similar issue from 1913. Stamps were in use across Moroccountil 1915, and in Tangier until 1919.

Hi Marc,

Yes, it's an early Moroccan issue from the Sultans's "Sherifian Post" from 1912 or 1913.

These are listed in the main SG catalogue and in Scott but not in SG's Stamps of the World as far as I can see.

Hi folks

Thanks so much for this. My little note was roughly on the right track then, but you've both cleared that up properly for me.

Thanks for the speedy reply.

Marc
