Hi
I am new to the forum. Just joined. I have been collecting for 60+ years and it's time to inventory my stamps. I collect Germany, Russia, Poland & India (some US as well). I do not want to spend days entering the stamp information. I just want to tell the program I have 1 copy of a stamp in mint or used. Pictures would be great. Need it to be simple as pie and some help if I need it. Just want a record to leave the kids when the time comes. Anyone have any suggestions or what they use?
Thank You Wilson

Welcome Wilson. The two leading stamp applications are EZ-Stamp and StampManage. You can search this forum for more details and/or search Google for links to the websites. Don |

If you use the Search button you can find a lot of past threads about software - I read most of them and ended up punting for the present. The one piece of advice that I saw that stood out in my mind is to not use any piece of software or web site that won't let you export to a standard format. You could end up spending hundreds of hours entering data that ends up being captive to that one piece of software. Please let us know what you decide! George |

Hello. My question would be, "Why a computer inventory?". If your collecting is in quite limited areas over a particular timeframe, you could just tick the appropriate points (unmounted mint, mint, used etc) in the catalogue. I'm just working through my French stamps doing that in the Yvert catalogue - much simpler and cheaper than playing about with software.

Thank You everyone. I looked at some of the posts & ended up purchasing Ezstamp. What great people. Spoke to mario. I downloaded the program and everything works great. Have started my Russia & have entered about 500 stamp in less than an hour. The pictures are really nice. I looked at stampmanage but it was sorely lacking in data & pictures. Would take a monumental amount of time to enter it all. I also got no response to questions. Looked a bit clumsy to me. I called Ezstamps & they picked up on a Saturday. very helpful and answered all my questions. very happy I purchased it. Thank you all for pointing me in the right direction Wilson |

Nice! Maybe after you use it for a month you can revisit this thread and let us know how it's working. As I mentioned I'm still waiting to make a choice.

HI George,
will do. So far, it's terrific. More than what I had hoped for. Will report back in a few weeks after I learn it all, but so far, no problems.
