Can anybody please help me with this? I have no idea of the language, but it appears to be ' Russian state 1950 ' I cannot find any reason for it to be there, thanks
"Slovensky Stat 1939" - Germany had invaded Czechoslovakia and established what they called the Slovakia Republic, or Slovensky Stat, overprinting several recent Czech stamps in this way.
The underlying stamp is Czechoslovakia 1936 SG358. When Germany divided up Czechoslovakia in 1939 the puppet state of Slovakia issued its own stamps. The first stamps were the Czech stamps from 1936, overprinted with Slovensky stat 1939. Your stamp is Slovakia 1939 SG18.
