about a year ago there was a thread about Washington Press going out of business - it was debunked within that thread - they are very much aline - al;ittle slow but alive! But I was wondering if anyone had any insight as to why it takes them so long to produce the Israel tabbed singles supplements. At one time it was April the following year when they would produce the previous year's supplement. That was reasonable. Then that changed. When I first asked, now many years ago, they told me the delay from April to August was due to the death of the person who did the layout. But since then it has gotten worse and is now December (if we are lucky). The 2015 supplement was October, then November and now December (I do keep asking them). They offer no explanation whatsoever as to the delay. Is it that collecting Israel stamps is minimal and there are far greater revenue opportunities for White Ace? It just seems like a 8 hour job once you know the stamps.
I have White Ace pages from 1948 and I am not keen to change albums but are there any others even out there. I am familair with Stiener but $40 a year for the one country I collect is too expensive. Perhaps there are no other optuions. At one point I had Minkus but they have since gone out of business which is why I switched.
Insight welcome
thanks

Schaubek and Lighthouse both offer Israel albums and pages, but at a cost. Neither necessarily updates annually, however. |

I like the Minkus pages for Israel, you can get them as reprints from Amos for a bit over $100 for a full set of singles, bit more for tabs, up to 1996. Supplements can be found to update to about 2005. Minkus was my first Israel album so have a sort of sentimental draw to them. |

I don't understand why it takes them so long. I keep thinking I should stop collecting new issues. I think Washington Press has lost interest. I considered moving to the Davo albums, but it is just so much hassle. |

It is December 15th, I am quickly losing my optimistic outlook of being able to obtain a 2015 Israel Tabbed Singles supplement from White Ace (washington press) before the end of the year. Bummer as I have some time off and it would be a good time to get them all mounted.
Do anyone know how big Washington Press actually is? Clearly they are deeply involved with US Stamps and make that a priority but as much as I am disappointed by their inability to get a supplment out a full year after issue dates, I am pretty satisfied with the quality you get for the money spent. I have been looking at alternatives and there are very few. All are way more expensive (although available now) and relly don't add any benefits over a pretty darn good looking page by White Ace.
It seems that this could go much quicker but I am guessing it a size issue as well as demand driven versus a US supplement.

I have contacted them so many times I have lost count. My question was really to see if anyone else has had any luck understanding the issues. I've emailed them and spoken to them live. It is always a resource issue. |

I forgot to come back and finish this thread....White Ace finally did release the 2015 pages in January 2017. Yeehaw! I dutifully picked up my set and found, like most of the recent years, Washington Press insists on putting non-tabbed self-adhesives in the tabbed singles supplements. I gave up about three years ago trying to convince them they don't belong in the TABBED supplement, to no avail |

Probably their reasoning is that many collect Israel only as tabs. Those people would expect a representation for that issue to be in the album. This may be one of those cases of having to buy a duplicate set just to satisfy the album requirements. I've had to do that a few times in other areas. |

Then they should release the pages earlier while the stamps are still available from the PO at face value, not 13 months later when they are long off sale. |

Adam, totally agreed. White Ace no longer supplements many of their albums. You'd think they'd be able to get out the ones they still publish in a more timely manner. |
