This is how I operate, I work on my own stuff, and any duplicates go into an Ice Cream container (empty )
You get what's in there, I don't have time to segregate.

Same goes with me, I'll accept anything, ripped torn, mutilated, junk, don't give it a second thought, otherwise its anxiety central.

I have some stuff here for you or willwood, indo-china, brit somaliland, and other european stuff.
I received a big box of "not wanted" from "Aussie Al" some of it is toned, I need to soak and get them fresh again, there will be some of that.

It's all fun!

Japan prefectures, I have 126 stamps of a possible 350?
about half, all catalogued.

Winter is on the way soon, so the duplicates grow when the rain and hail arrives.

Soaking: be aware the yellow can stain the stamps.
Try placing face down in cold water, and remove as soon as the gum releases
Rinse carefully in clean cold water
