Looks like a purchase for a Philatelist, I am just a collector.
(That's about half my annual budget for stamps)

Some background on this series. 1855-1864

The portrait of the Queen was engraved by William Humphreys, from a watercolour drawing by E H Corbould, after a mezotint by Samuel Cousins.
Original supplies were printed in old blighty by Perkins, Bacon and Co, later supplies of the 1d 2d and 4d values, were printed by H & C Best in Hobart, on paper as used for the Courier newspaper.

Well, it's certainly not a purchase for me! Whilst I don't much like old Queen V, I do like that portrait as the basis for postage stamp designs.

Don't be too hard on the old Gal, she held the reins on a very productive time in British history, and a time of strong ethics.
Perhaps not as pretty as her famous Chalon bust in later years, she was only 4ft 11 inches, and put on a bit of weight in later years, as we all do.
I think we owe her a great deal of gratitude.

ACSC # 88D exists in Blue Green and Pale Blue Green.

The gossip I heard last year, was Australia Post was suffering due to the increase in Parcel Post, so they upped the postal rate.
Now it seems they are offering "Free Postage" (with conditions)

Note : "Free " is a loose term (It costs one $6.95 per month to belong)

Y'know, I do the best to save information, but some times it kicks you in the butt.

I found Australia Post's information on this strip (VERY common by the way) then I thought "no one is going to want this" then up you pop.

I should have guessed this is what happens.

I cannot recall the commentary, but will search and re-post shortly.

(I get these yellow strips on just about every cover I receive)

They peel off easily, without damage, and you can re attach on a different position on the cover.

Prices appear unrealistic to me, however the presentation suggests a Philatelist at work.
I have never found a Gumtree Postage stamp lot, at a price to have me bidding.

it's similar to a "Car boot sale" online.

People market their junk / good stuff, free of charge for a basic advert,
locally or nationally.

I have bought stuff like antique bookcase, vegetable shredder, electric metal shears etc & etc.

My colleague bought a Toyota Hilux 4 wheel drive (or similar, cannot recall which model) $15,000 (about a $6,000 discount) from Queensland,
Sight unseen and shipped by Rail.

It is a doozie..beautiful condition, needed 1 tyre, thats it.
