The Washington press website says their album pages are 60# index. I cannot find a paper reference table that has a 60# index. Index starts at 90# (162 gsm) but there is a 60# cover with the same gsm. I have some older Minkus pages from an old plate block album and seem to be close to the same weight.

Anyone know the correct weight?

I did a little more googling and did find a 60# index in a table. It is 109 gsm and close to 28lb/70lb text (104 gsm). It is not a common size.

I assembled samples of 24#, 28# (105 gsm), Mystic Heirloom (around #28# based upon feel), 32# Hammermill Laser Gloss (120 GSM), and a White Ace (states as 60# index) and the White Ace is noticeably thicker than even the 32# text 120 gsm.

Update: Using a micrometer, I measured 8 mils for the White Ace page and a Minkus page measured 6.7 mils. This means White Ace page is closer to 65# cover and Minkus is equivalent to 50# cover. Interestingly, my 32# Hammermill measures 3.8 mil and 28# paper measures 4.5mil. The Hammermill is solid color Laser paper so suspect it is denser (not nearly as translucent).

What got me interested was that I picked up an old minkus album off ebay and the appreciated the stiffness of the pages.

In order to hold mini-sheets on album pages, I really need something better than 28# text.
