Any Idea What Is This - Russian Or Italian Bob?

Some of words are written in Cyrillic script, and also Italia is written on latin.

It has some value (20) so it could be some kind of charity stamp instead of BOB.

It is printed with some method, too poor for stamp... something like screen printing??

I am guessing that this is a charity stamp by a post-world war II Ukrainian exile group in Italy. The paper has a German appearance because of the gum "riffles" which were impressed into it. The way the ink sits on the paper shows that the stamp was inked after it was gummed and riffled.

Yes, the yellow ink has the strange quality of bubbling...as you would find with some screen printing, but I think the printing (especially the marginal imprints) are a little too fine for screen printing.

I can not read the word on top of the stamp, but have you tried googling it?

This title appears to be the Ukrainian for "Union of Brest" so the label is commemorating the 1596 Union of Brest when the Ruthenian Uniate Church was formed under Papal authority.

The successor church to this is the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church.

This sounds like a very suitable topic for a Ukrainian POW or emigré group in Italy to commemorate.

No it is not, filipo, I have had the scan for a long time, helped me out on numerous occaisions.
Not sure from whence it came, probably back in the days of the newsgroups.

I collect Worldwide, and Ukrainian Cinderellas often pop up in old collections.
Identifying them is another thing.
Mr. Jay Carrigan was a fabulous source of information on Ukraine.

PS: The Italian connection?
Guess:
1st November 1918, Poland declared war on the Ukraine,
Italy supported along with other countries the opposition of Polish expansion.

There were a large number of Ukrainian PoWs in Italy at the end of the Second World War, having fought alongside the Germans.

That may be a lead Geoff, charity to support POW's.

PS: Ukraine was first country in the world to have zip codes / postal codes.

"The stamp - 1 out of a set of 7 issued in Rome on 15 November 1946 by the Ukrainian delegation to the Vatican. Commemorating the 350th anniversary of the agreement between the Ukraine and the Holy Seat, the 20 lira low value has the portrait of Bishop Ipazio Potij. A charity issue in support of the Ukrainian Charitable Committee (U.K.D.) for the relief of refugees, ex-prisoners of war and concentration camp victims at the Ukrainian DP camp in Rimini, Italy.

Designed by Mykola Asowskyj, there were 119,600 sets of 7 printed. the stamps are not known used and in mint condition they have a catalogue value (2015) of 8 Euros each. Mainly they were used up as patriotic labels/seals on mail by Ukrainians re-settled in Canada and USA."
