I'm leaning towards this being a bottom row #26. The bottom margin seems to large to be otherwise.
Unless the pane lines don't continue south of the bottom row. This one does. That would mean this is a 26A.

Any insight on pane lines would be appreciated.

A better image of the stamp would be nice, just for something to look at if nothing else. It is a bottom row stamp that has little to no chance of being a Type IV.

So then, my follow up question...does the pane line continue beyond the bottom row on all the later plates?

My favorite way to detect 26As is by holding the stamp at an angle and looking to see if the vertical framelines are crooked or not. If they are crooked, then its a 26A, and if not, then its a 26. Its often hard to tell from a flat scan - this technique, which I think Chase called foreshortening works pretty well once you get the hang of it.
