Which type of mount is used in the currently-sold Lighthouse hingeless U.S.A. albums I and II? Do the mounts open at the top, or do they open at the middle of the back?

They used to open at the top, but, after reading certain posts here, I'm thinking that they now open at the middle of the back (which I don't like).

I will call Lighthouse tomorrow and try to find out.

I was planning to buy albums I and II, but now I'm not so sure.

Thank you.

I called Lighthouse, and the woman that answered said that their U.S.A. hingeless album has both types of mounts -- the "folder" type that open at the top, and the "wrap-around" type that open in the middle of the back -- depending on the type of stamp, souvenir sheet, etc., that is in question.

In general my experience has been is that for small format items, such as most single stamps, their mounts open at the top. Larger items, such as souvenir sheets, tend to wrap around.. Usually, though some open at the top, but most wrap around.
