Hello everyone. I have a set of the Coronation stamps All are blocks of 4. I known that the sheet has 6 rows of 20 stamps, so I am guessing that these are row 3 and 4 position 41,42,61 and 62. My question concerns the lower right stamp of the blocks of 4. Each of them show a double dot on the Neck a bigger one on the left and a smaller one to the right. Is this known on this stamp positon and does it have a name. I would think/call it the Vampire Bite. Well, at least you have a picture of all values with the same dots. Kind regards, Johan.

Pictures of the five stamps seperatly and 2 of the blocks complete.

Interesting. I've not come across this one and it appears to be a positional printing flaw. I don't have the SA Handbook so I can't tell you what it says. Maybe you could contact Otto Peetoom, who runs the South African Stamps www.southafricanstamps.net website? His e-mail address is ottopeetoom@btinternet.com

Let us know Otto's comments.

Nice stuff Johan! Interesting with the same flaw along the entire set, quite unusal when presented in blocks of 4 like this. Thanks for sharing

I would like to thank everyone for there replies. I did find some pictures of two other parts of a sheet which show the same dots, so the quest continues. Unfortunatly Otto Peetoom could not help me. I will investigate further and new information will be shared. Kind regards, Johan.

Johan, I'll make some inquiries elsewhere and see if I can come up with anything.
