Hi guys..Here is another oddity you probably will not see in the wild...This Scott 1358 has gray (silver) lettering...Look at the plate position 3...The "three" has the gray (silver) lettering missing.

Hi Robert, and a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you also! Could just have been a piece of paper stuck to the plate at that position? I have seen this type of oddity on other stamps also.

Peter

Peter my friend..Merry Christmas and a safe New Year to you to.

It was not a piece of paper stuck, here is a close up of the "43", notice some gray (silver) near the bottom of the number.

If it was a piece of paper stuck, it would have to be the exact same shape as the number "three"..Notice background was not affected by the so called piece of paper...just saying.

Robert

Robert - you do find such amazing stuff.

I also think that a piece of paper was over most of the three when the silver was printed. It was on a slight angle (further left at top).

The underinked 620 was also a great find.

Could be under-inking... There is also evidence of what seems to be "nearly missing ink" on the top of the "43" on position #2.
