Anyone know of a source for punched three ring size sheet protectors? Nearly all I find now are tabbed. They won't fit my Mystic and other albums. Prefer lightweight. Thanks for any suggestions.

I'm not certain what you mean by tabbed, but I've had no problems with Staples or, indeed, any office supply store. |

Tabbed- in that format the punch holes are in a plastic tab attached to the left side of the sheet. I never saw any of these until about 10-15 years ago, now that seems to be all I can get here. The protector makes the inserted page stick out past the edge of the binder. Not sure why these re so ubiquitous now but you have to really look for ones punched through the plastic.
Perhaps I ought to post link to listing for some so people can see what I mean, it's a bit hard to explain. |

I think that the 'tabbed' format took over the known universe because 1) it allowed reinforcing & rigidity along the axis of the rings, and 2) prevented the inserted/protected object from coming into contact with the rings which, over time, get slightly mis-aligned, creating a rough spot. There might be no going back Cheers, /s/ ikeyPikey |

You may be right, Ikey. I plan a visit to a local stamp shop tomorrow and will ask if he has any he has pulled from old collections. I bought a bunch from him some time ago. That may be what I need to start doing. |

Quote: The protector makes the inserted page stick out past the edge of the binder. I am having that problem in Australia, with the new Chinese Binders. I have emailed the merchant with the problem, and they are looking into it. The problem lies in the new "ring" which is now an eliptical shape, which makes the page sit outside the binder cover, as you have explained. |

It might be the shape of the rings in your binders. I used Avery sheet protectors with the tab in 1" round ring binders and the closest any page ever gets to the edge of the binder is 1/4 inch short of the edge. |

Well I visited two local business supply stores today. I wound up going back home and buying what I needed on ebay. I found a seller offering packs of 50 punched sheets for 11.79 and bought four. At both outlets, one an Office Depot no one understood what I wanted. This may be a long twilight struggle. I use these for my Mystic US albums. It did occur to try trimming off the tabs and then punching the plastic myself, that is too tedious to contemplate. Tabbed protectors have taken over the world. |
