I am a coin and paper money collector, but know nothing about stamps. I found this stamp book from 1935 stuck in some boxes in a family member's basement. It's filled with multiple countries that feature various stamps. There's also multiple other books like this one. I just figured I should start with the U.S stamps to make it easy. Anyway, I'll include some photos. I'd be interested to know if any of these have any value. If they don't, have any recommendations on what I should so with them? Thanks!
The only one that appears to have some value is the 50 cent Probate Will Revenue (blue) R62c catalogs for around $20 in Very Fine condition. Unfortunately yours is well off center, so maybe worth 15-25% of catalog value.
The 1 cent green 1924 Huguenot used in very fine condition catalogs for about $3.25, but again condition plays a part in actual value and yours appears to have short perforations along the bottom edge. If true, that would impact value.
A couple of the stamps (1 cent green Washington & 2 cent red Panama Canal)appear to be paraffins - i.e. have been punched with letter codes. They may be of interest to collectors of that stuff.
Other than that, most of the stamps look to be in pretty rough condition and of minimal value as noted above.
Thanks for sharing. It's always fun and interesting to discover old collections. Unfortunately, they rarely contain the golden egg.
